"File does not exist" during Lotus Notes 6 upgrade on Apple Mac (version 10)

I had to upgrade Lotus Notes on Apple Macs and IMacs which had been upgraded to version 10.2.8. Using Lotus Notes 6.02CF2, you have an option to upgrade the existing version or perform a clean installation. When selecting a clean installation a got the error message "File does not exist". It was only after much head-scratching that I found the cause was a notes preferences file from the previous version , which was looking for files which were not there anymore.

- Click on the Home icon

- Select Library

- Search for a file called Notes Preferences

This file needs to be deleted (In windows, this file used be to called notes.ini)
